This week in adaptation trailers

This week, a bunch of books took their first big steps toward the screen. Here’s a roundup of the teasers and trailers that dropped this week. 

‘Murder in Glitter Ball City’

The two-part documentary revisits a 2010 murder case in Louisville, Ky., based on the non-fiction book “A Dark Room in Glitter Ball City” by David Dominé. It premieres Feb. 19 on HBO.

‘Bridgerton’ Season 4 – Part 2

Part 2 of “Bridgerton” Season 4 finds Benedict continuing his pursuit of the Lady in Silver/Sophie. Season 4 is based on Julia Quinn’s “An Offer From a Gentleman.” It premieres Feb. 26 on Netflix.

‘Young Sherlock’

Director Guy Ritchie presents the origin story of Sherlock Holmes, based on the “Young Sherlock Holmes” series by Andrew Lane. It premieres March 4 on Prime Video.

‘Imperfect Women’

The psychological thriller series is based on the book “Imperfect Women” by Araminta Hall and follows the breakdown of a long-time friendship among three women. It premieres March 18 on Apple TV.

‘The Miniature Wife’
This dark comedy, based on a short story by Manuel Gonzales, explores power imbalances in a relationship after a tech problem shrinks the wife. “The Miniature Wife” premieres April 9 on Peacock.

‘Margot’s Got Money Troubles’

Based on Rufi Thorpe’s bestselling novel, a pregnant Margot has to come up with ways to make money to support herself and her baby in “Margot’s Got Money Troubles.” It premieres April 15 on Apple TV.

‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’

Expanding on the first film and book by Lauren Weisberger, “The Devil Wears Prada,” Andy Sachs returns to Runway Magazine as their features editor. It premieres May 1 in theaters.

‘Lucky’ 

Marissa Stapley’s book-turned-thriller series “Lucky” follows a con artist on the run after a heist goes wrong. It premieres July 15 on Apple TV.

  1. This site is so informative! Love the lay out because it’s so easy to read and follow. It makes me want to read more books! And of course then watch the movie. I feel so much more knowledgeable knowing that so many books were made into movies.. I had no idea. Looking forward to future postings!
