French Canadian actor Yves Jacques revealed Friday that he’s joining the cast of “Heated Rivalry” for Season 2.
He was joined by co-creator and writer Jacob Tierney in an Instagram post announcing the news.
Speaking in French, Jacques told his followers, “So, the reason why I couldn’t be there tonight is because I’m filming a series that I think you appreciate a lot, which is directed by a gentleman I like very much—Jacob Tierney—and it’s called ‘Heated Rivalry.’”
Stepping into the frame, Tierney responds, “Thank you,” in French. Then in English: “OK, back to work.”
The two appear to be on set in the fictional Montreal Metros’ training room, leading fans to speculate Jacques will be playing the team’s head coach. The video didn’t specify his role.
Jacques is known for his appearances in “The Decline of the American Empire,” “The Barbarian Invasions” and, most recently, “Sisters and Neighbors!’
He joins several previously announced new additions to the “Heated Rivalry” cast, including Milla Jovovich, Emily Hampshire, Kevin Zegers, Charlie Gillespie, Justice Smith, Nick Stahl, David Tomlinson, Michelle Mylett, Brendan Morgan, Edvin Ryding, Paul Gross, Daniel Diemer, Lauren Chan, Robert Naylor, Shaheen Jafargholi, Sabrina Jalees and Priyanka.
Returning cast members include Connor Storrie, Hudson Williams, Francois Arnaud, Robbie G.K., Callan Potter, Ksenia Daniela Kharlamova, Christina Chang, Dylan Walsh, Kamilla Kowal and Sophie Nelisse.
“Heated Rivalry” Season 2, based on the “Game Changers” book series by Rachel Reid, is expected to be released in April 2027.
