“Heated Rivalry” announced yet another round of cast members for the upcoming Season 2 of the queer romance, including Michelle Mylett, who worked with creator Jacob Tierney previously on “Letterkenny.”
Mylett is set to play Lisa, a medical doctor and the wife of Ottawa Centaurs goalie Wyatt Hayes, played by Robert Naylor. Mylett is perhaps best known for her role as Katy in comedy series “Letterkenny,” which Tierney co-created and starred in alongside Jared Keeso.
Also announced were Nick Stahl as Curtis Barrett, Centaurs player Troy Barrett’s overbearing and bigoted father. Brendan Morgan will play Centaurs player Zane Boodram, David Tomlinson will be Cody Kent—the homophobic Dallas Kent in the “Game Changers” books by Rachel Reid—Gerry Dee will play Coach Cooper, coach of the Toronto hockey team Troy and Cody played on; and model Lauren Chan plays Gen, who works for the Centaurs’ publicity alongside Harris Drover (Justice Smith).
While most of Season 1 of the series focused on Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) playing for the Montreal Metros, Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie) playing for the Boston Raiders and Scott Hunter (Francois Arnaud) playing for the New York Admirals, Season 2 will expand to include a couple more teams. The season includes a storyline from the book “Role Model” involving Troy Barrett (Charlie Gillespie), who is friends with and plays alongside Cody Kent on the Toronto team. Ryan Price (to be played by Daniel Diemer) also played on the team in his book, “Tough Guy.”
Troy is forced to leave the team after a confrontation with Cody and winds up on the Ottawa team, where he has to face up to the reputation he built as a former friend of Cody.
Previously announced new cast members for Season 2 include Milla Jovovich, Kevin Zegers, Paul Gross, Shaheen Jafargholi, Emily Hampshire, Priyanka, Edvin Ryding, and Sabrina Jalees.
Returning cast members from Season 1 include Sophie Nelisse as Rose Landry, Ksenia Daniela Kharlamova as Svetlana Vetrova, Robbie G.K. as Kip Grady, Christina Chang as Yuna Hollander, Dylan Walsh as David Hollander, Callan Potter as Hayden Pike, Benjamin Roy as JJ Dagenais and Kamilla Kowal as Jackie Pike.
