‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ Season 4
Streaming Feb. 5 on Netflix
Season 4 of “The Lincoln Lawyer” adapts Michael Connelly’s book “The Law of Innocence.” The series follows defense attorney Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), who fights to clear his name when a dead body is found in his car’s trunk.
The cast also includes Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, Angus Sampson, Neve Campbell, Elliott Gould, Krista Warner, Constance Zimmer, Cobie Smulders, Sasha Alexander, Kyle Richards, Scott Lawrence, Jason Butler Harner, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Jason O’Mara, Nancy Silverton and Javon Johnson.
‘Dracula: A Love Tale’
In theaters Feb. 6
“Dracula” revisits Bram Stoker’s classic novel, which is one of the most adapted books of all time. Directed by French filmmaker Luc Besson (“Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets”), the film is officially titled “Dracula: A Love Tale,” though it is often marketed simply as “Dracula.”
The film stars Caleb Landry Jones (“The Outpost”) as Dracula, alongside Christoph Waltz (“Frankenstein”) and Zoë Bleu. The story follows a 15th-century prince-turned-vampire after the loss of his wife. He searches across centuries for her reincarnation, which he believes he finds in Mina Murray (Bleu).
‘Pillion’
In theaters Feb. 6
“Pillion” is based on the novel Box Hill written by Adam Mars-Jones. The book follows a relationship in the 1970s gay biker community and explores a BDSM relationship. The award-winning novel won the 2019 Fitzcarraldo Editions Novel Prize and the 2020 Spectator Book of the Year.
The dark comedy stars Alexander Skarsgård (“Big Little Lies”) and Harry Melling (“Harry Potter” films). The film originally premiered at the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival in May where it received several accolades.
‘Scarlet’
In theaters Feb. 6
“Scarlet,” an anime film inspired by William Shakespeare’s “Hamlet,” follows sword-fighting princess Scarlet as she time travels to avenge her father’s death. It originally debuted at the Venice Film Festival in September and premiered in Japan in November.
Japanese actress and singer Mana Ashida voices the lead character. Filmmaker and animator Mamoru Hosoda’s previous films include 2018’s “Mirai,” which was nominated for a Best Animated Feature Film Oscar, and 2021’s “Belle,” based on “Beauty and the Beast.”
‘The Huntsman’
In theaters Feb. 6, on VOD Feb. 10
“The Huntsman” is a psychological thriller adapted from Judith Sander’s novel of the same name. It stars Shawn Ashmore (“X-Men”) as an ICU nurse who volunteers to read to a coma patient (Garret Dillahunt) accused of murdering six women.
A detective, played by “Falling Skies” star Jessy Schram, races to stop the killer, while the nurse is drawn into a web of lies and deadly secrets involving the suspect’s wife, portrayed by Elizabeth Mitchell “V.”)
