Halloween ‘Marvel Zombies’ specials announced at N.Y. Comic Con

Marvel Studios has your plans all set for the next three Halloweens with the introduction of new “Marvel Zombies” specials to be timed to the holiday.

The studio made the announcement Thursday at its New York Comic Con panel. The adult animated series was first launched on Disney+ in September 2025 with a four-episode season that served as a spinoff of a Season 1 episode of “What If…?”

The episode posits what would happen if our favorite Avengers became zombies, sparking a zombie apocalypse. The source of the infection is Hank Pym (the original Ant-Man)’s wife, Janet van Dyne (the original Wasp), who comes back from the Quantum Realm infected with a virus that has turned her into a zombie.

The new specials are titled “Marvel Zombies: The Winter Soldier,” set for a 2027 release; “Marvel Zombies: The Fist of Khonshu,” in 2028; and “Marvel Zombies: The Last Guardian.”

The “Marvel Zombies” franchise is one of several horror-themed films and television series based on Marvel comics, including the “Blade” franchise, “Ghost Rider,” “Morbius” and “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.”
