‘Kill Jackie’
Streaming Oct. 2 on AMC+

Catherine Zeta-Jones stars in AMC revenge series “Kill Jackie,” which is based on the novel “The Price You Pay” by Nick Harkaway writing under the pseudonym Aidan Truhen.
The description by AMC reads: “Kill Jackie follows Jackie Price (Zeta-Jones), who has spent the last twenty years living a quiet, luxurious existence selling fine art while remaining anonymous after escaping a criminal past. Her carefully constructed world is shattered when she discovers that The Seven Demons, a squad of ruthless assassins, have been hired to kill her. Jackie will need to unleash her old instincts and execute a dangerous plan to take down the Demons.”
Daniel Ings, Sidse Babett Knudsen and Bill Paterson also star. The eight-episode series will premiere on AMC+ on Oct. 2.
‘Verity’
In theaters Oct. 2
In “Verity,” Jeremy Crawford (Josh Hartnett) hires Lowen Ashleigh (Dakota Johnson) to finish his wife Verity’s (Anne Hathaway) book.
Jeremy shows Lowen that Verity, who is a bestselling author, has been incapacitated by an accident. Lowen moves in with the married couple to work on the book and uncovers Verity’s disturbing autobiographical notes. The film is based on Colleen Hoover’s 2018 novel. It will premiere in theaters on Oct. 2.
‘Nocturne’
Streaming Oct. 30 on Apple TV
Liev Schreiber, Zazie Beetz and Stephen Graham star in the Nordic Noir adaptation “Nocturne.” The 10-episode drama is an adaptation of the 2012 thriller “The Sandman,” written by Lars Kepler, the pseudonym of husband-wife team Alexander Ahndoril and Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril.
“Nocturne” also stars Bill Camp, Rory Culkin, Chrissy Metz, Poorna Jagannathan and Gary Carr. John Hlavin and Rowan Joffe serve as co-showrunners. The series will stream on Apple TV on Oct. 30.
‘The Good Daughter’
Streaming Nov. 12 on Peacock

“The Good Daughter” is an adaptation of Karin Slaughter’s 2019 book of the same name. The story follows sisters Charlotte (Meghann Fahy) and Samantha (Rose Byrne) Quinn, who have spent the last 20 years trying to figure out their lives after a violent attack. When another attack occurs, Charlotte, a lawyer, is a witness.
The logline says: “As the case unfolds and twists through painful memories and buried secrets, what emerges is not just a story of survival, but of enduring ties between a father, his daughters and the complex bond between sisters.” It will stream on Peacock on Nov. 12.

‘The Secret Woman’
Streaming Aug. 28 on Netflix
“The Secret Woman” is based on the novel of the same name written by Anna Ekberg—the pseudonym for Danish writer duo Anders Rønnow Klarlund and Jacob Weinreich. The film follows Louise Andersen, who lives on a Norwegian island with her partner and runs a cafe.
The logline says: “Suddenly, her idyllic world shatters when a strange man enters the café and claims that she is not who she believes she is. He asserts that she is a woman who disappeared from Denmark three years earlier, leaving her husband searching for her ever since.” It premiered on Aug. 28 on Netflix.
‘The Whisper Man’
Streaming Aug. 28 on Netflix
Adam Scott, Michelle Monaghan and Robert De Niro star in Netflix’s series “The Whisper Man.” Based on the novel by Alex North, the story follows a widowed crime writer whose son is abducted. He asks his former police detective father, with whom he is no longer in touch, for help.
They find a connection to the serial killer known as “The Whisper Man.” The series is premiered Aug. 28.
‘Last Seen’
Streaming Sept. 9 on Apple TV

Patrick Brammall (“The Devil Wears Prada 2”) stars as Ian Ridley in Apple TV’s thriller series “Last Seen.” The six-episode series set in Australia is an adaptation of the book “The Dispatcher” by Ryan David Jahn.
Brammall plays a police detective-turned-dispatcher whose life fell apart when his daughter disappeared. After 11 years, he still hasn’t given up hope that she’s still alive, and a desperate call from a teen girl renews his vow to find her. The series, which also stars Maxine Peake, Brendan Cowell and Daniel Henshall, premiered Sept. 9 on Apple TV.
‘Tommy and Tuppence’
Streaming Sept.15 on BritBox
A new Agatha Christie adaptation, “Tommy & Tuppence,” is streaming on BritBox. The series stars Josh Dylan and Antonia Thomas as the titular characters trying to solve a murder with the help of Imelda Staunton’s character, Tommy’s Aunt Ada. Fergus O’Brien and Ellie Heydon are directing and Phoebe Eclair-Powell adapted the script from Christie’s series of books starring the two amateur sleuths. “Tommy & Tuppence” debuted on the streamer Sept. 15.
‘The Scandal’
Streaming Sept. 18 on Netflix
“The Scandal” is Netflix’s reimagining of Pierre Choderlos de Laclos’ 1782 novel “Les Liaisons dangereuses” and remake of 2003 adaptation “Untold Scandal.
Set in Joseon-era Korea, it follows the unconventional Lady Cho (Son Ye-jin), playboy Jo-won (Ji Chang-wook), and a woman (NANA) who is at the center of a wager between the pair. Jung Ji-woo directs the modern adaptation. It premiered on Sept. 18.
‘The Final Problem’
Streaming Sept. 25 on Netflix
Netflix’s Spanish-language limited series “The Final Problem” is an adaptation of a novel by Arturo Pérez-Reverte. It stars Jose Coronado, María Valverde and Martiño Rivas.
“In the spring of 1959, 13 people find themselves stranded by a violent storm on a small island off the coast of Mallorca,” a synopsis reads. “No one could imagine what is about to unfold at the secluded hotel where they are staying: Elisa Mander, a quiet English tourist, is found dead. What initially appears to be a suicide soon reveals itself to be something far more disturbing—a murder.” It premiered on Sept. 25.
