Viewers got an extended early look at Noah Reid and Clark Backo as investigators searching for a missing Hudson Williams on Monday in a sneak peak clip of “Yaga.”
The clip features Reid (“The Vampire Lestat”) as private investigator Rapp as he arrives via helicopter in a small coastal town in British Columbia, Canada. Awaiting him are local law enforcement—Backo (“Letterkenny”), who plays Carson; Patrick Gilmore (“School Spirits”) who plays Eckert; and Sam Krochmal (“Tracker”), who plays Billy.
Rapp has been hired by a local—and wealthy—family searching for their presumably missing son, Henry Park, played by Hudson Williams (“Heated Rivalry”). AMC revealed last week that Williams also plays a surprise second character named Logan.
Carson appears wary of Rapp’s involvement in the case, but Eckert reminds her the Park family “is good to this town” as the owners of a commercial fishery. Billy comments that Rapp “looks cool” right as the private investigator trips and falls on his way up a hill to meet with the local cops.
“Yaga” is an eight-episode adaptation of Kat Sandler’s play of the same name, inspired by the Slavic legend of Baba Yaga. She also adapted the play for the series, which is set to debut on Oct. 23.
The series also stars Carrie-Anne Moss, Megan Follows, Ezra Franky and Sheila McCarthy.
