“Heated Rivalry” star François Arnaud is set to add another series adaptation to his filmography, joining the cast of the highly anticipated Hulu thriller “Count My Lies.”
Deadline was the first to report the casting news, and Sophie Stava, who wrote the book, confirmed with a post on Instagram.
“All I can say is: PERFECTION! @francoisarnaud is a dream come true for the role of Danny in the @hulu Count My Lies limited series. CHEF’S KISS!!” she wrote.
Lindsay Lohan, in her first scripted TV role, stars in the series as rich and glamorous Violet Lockhart, who is married to Jay, played by “Game of Thrones” star Kit Harington. The “Mean Girls” star hires a nanny, Sloane Caraway, played by Shailene Woodley (“Big Little Lies”), who lies her way into the position.
Arnaud has been tapped to play Danny, Violet’s friend.
The suspense thriller centers on Sloane, who thinks she has found a dream job, learning that the perfect couple who hired her are not what they seem.
Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, who worked on “This Is Us,” are the showrunners for the adaptation.
While Arnaud has received quite a bit of acclaim for his role as hockey player Scott Hunter in Crave’s “Heated Rivalry”—including a Queerty Award for Best TV Performance and two ACTRA Awards—he’s had a two-decade career in prestige television. He’s had roles in the period drama “The Borgias,” Canadian comedy “Schitt’s Creek” and Showtime survival drama “Yellowjackets.” He also starred in the films “Goodbye Happiness,” “The Switch” and “Twinless.”
Arnaud will next appear in the miniseries “Alice” and the feature film thriller “Someone’s Daughter.” While he has yet to be confirmed for Season 2 of “Heated Rivalry,” his character does appear in the Rachel Reid book upon which it is expected to be based—“The Long Game.”
