The world of hockey romance is expanding yet again, this time with an adaptation of Hannah Grace’s bestselling novel “Icebreaker.”

The series from Netflix joins other notable romance series set on ice—Crave’s “Heated Rivalry” and Prime Video’s “Off-Campus.” “Icebreaker,” however, includes a bit of figure skating to spice things up. 

The book focuses on competitive figure skater Anastasia Allen and Nate Hawkins, a hockey player determined to go pro. 

“Despite the cold temperatures on the ice, the heat between Anastasia and Nate is undeniable,” a synopsis of the book reads. “But, is ambition or attraction the sharper blade?”

“Icebreaker” is the first book in Grace’s Maple Hill series, which also includes “Wildfire” and “Daydream.” Each focuses on a different couple from Maple Hill.

Amanda Lasher is expected to serve as showrunner on the series. She and Jade Bartlett will co-write and executive produce. Alex Cooper, Matt Kaplan and Mina Lefevre will also executive produce on behalf of Unwell Productions.
