Netflix has announced the full cast of “The God of the Woods.” Joining previously announced cast members Maya Hawke and Kerry Condon are Damon Gupton, Ella Rubin, Susannah Perkins, Benjamin Walker, Nell Fisher, and Autumn Molina.

The series is based on the 2024 bestselling novel by Liz Moore. The author and screenwriter Liz Hannah are working together as co-showrunners, writers and executive producers. 

Hawke will play investigator Judy Luptack, who is assigned to figure out what happened to a young girl in upstate New York. Condon will play Alice Van Laar, whose daughter has gone missing.

The story is set in the Adirondacks and centers on the Van Laar family’s secrets and past traumas and the disappearance of 13-year-old Barbara Van Laar from summer camp.

“We love making TV and can’t wait to bring ‘The God of the Woods’ to life with our partners at Sony and Netflix,” Moore and Hannah told Netflix Tudum. “We hope everyone falls in love (and hate) with these characters as much as we have.”

Moore’s novel “Long Bright River” was previously adapted into a limited series in 2025 starring Amanda Seyfried.
