Prime Video released the first trailer for upcoming romantic series “Every Year After” starring Sadie Soverall and Matt Cornett.
The trailer follows Percy (Soverall) as she returns to Barry’s Bay to attend the funeral of her mother-like figure Sue (Elisha Cuthbert). Sue also happens to be the mother of Percy’s long-time love interest Sam (Cornett).
Percy spent her summers in Barry’s Bay next door to Sam’s family, growing closer to him and eventually falling in love. But years later, after the end of their romance, the two come face-to-face again to mourn Sue’s death.
“What am I doing back here?” Percy wonders aloud as she arrives back in Barry’s Bay.
Sam has his own concerns: “Percy being here is going to be bad for me,” he tells his brother, Charlie (Michael Bradway).
“We were always there for each other,” Percy says. “I just want to be there for him now.”
“Every Year After” is an adaptation of Carley Fortune’s “Every Summer After,” the first in a series of four books. The series hits Prime Video on June 10 and also stars Aurora Perrineau, Abigail Cowen and Joseph Chiu.
