‘Is God Is’ releases two clips ahead of Friday release

Amazon released two new clips from its upcoming “Is God Is,” an adaptation of the play by the same name by Aleshea Harris.

The film, which Harris also directed, is set to hit theaters May 15.

One clip features Vivica A. Fox as Ruby, aka God, as she encourages her twin daughters Racine (Kara Young) and Anaia (Mallori Johnson) to kill their father, played by Sterling K. Brown. While on her deathbed, Ruby tells the women, “Make your daddy dead. Dead. Dead.”

When the girls were children, their father set their mother on fire—leaving all three women with disfiguring scars—before abandoning his family.

A second clip shows Racine and Anaia observing a church service led by Erika Alexander as Divine. A room full of churchgoers collapse as Divine yells out, “You ain’t shit, devil!” and the two sisters turn to leave.

“Is God Is” hits theaters May 15.
