Screenwriter Laura Lekkos announced Monday she’s been tapped to adapt Rebecca Serle’s romance novel “Expiration Dates.”
The project is being developed by Amazon MGM Studios and Emma Roberts is set to star.
In a post on Instagram, Lekkos described Serle as “an author I’m a huge fan of.”
“A story I am beyond excited to bring to the screen,” she added. “Expiration Dates!!! I’m doing cartwheels for you.”
Deadline was the first to report the news.
“Expiration Dates” follows a woman who magically receives pieces of paper that give her the date her relationships will expire. She meets one man only to find the slip of paper with his name has no expiration date.
Serle currently has three other novels in development—“One Italian Summer” at Paramount, “In Five Years” at New Line and “Once and Again” at Apple. Her young adult novel “When You Were Mine” was released by Hulu as the film “Rosaline” in 2022.
