“The Terror” made its long-awaited return to AMC on Wednesday with the first trailer for Season 3, subtitled “Devil in Silver.”

Based on the book of the same name by Victor LaValle, the third season of the horror anthology series stars Dan Stevens, Judith Light and CCH Pounder. It’s set to premiere on AMC+ and Shudder on May 7. 

The trailer opens with Stevens’ character being arrested and taken to a psychiatric institution after assaulting a man. He begins seeing creepy and terrifying visions. 

The third season of the series comes nearly seven years after Season 2, “The Terror: Infamy,” which was not an adaptation. Season 1, “The Terror,” was based on the novel of the same name by Dan Simmons and starred Jared Harris, Tobias Menzies and Ciarán Hinds as mid-19th century explorers lost in the Arctic.
