Tubi teases ‘R.L. Stine’s The Babysitter’ adaptation

Tubi is tackling yet another project from the spooky mind of R.L. Stine with an adaptation of his young adult horror novel “The Babysitter.”

The streaming service announced the film will be coming in 2027 in a short teaser. It features a silhouette of a woman standing in the window of a lit house while lightning flashes in the night sky.

No casting or crew details have been released.

Stine wrote four books as part of his “Babysitter” series between 1989 and 1995.

The first focuses on 16-year-old babysitter Jenny Jeffers as she’s stalked by mysterious phone calls while babysitting a child named Donny.

Tubi previously released two other adaptations based on Stine’s works—2025’s “Pumpkinhead” and “Pumpkinhead 2,” which came out Oct. 9. The streamer is also planning to release “R.L. Stine’s Afraid of Clowns” in 2027. It’s not a direct adaptation of Stine’s books, but is instead inspired by his oeuvre.
