Marvel Entertainment released a final trailer for the upcoming “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” which splits its time between recapping the major events in the life of Peter Parker (Tom Holland) and teasing new footage.

The trailer opens with Peter reading from the letter he wrote, but never delivered, to MJ (Zendaya) after the events of the previous film, “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”

The visuals recount events from the first three films, including the death of Aunt May (Marisa Tomei) and the world forgetting that Peter Parker ever existed, causing him to lose his relationships with MJ and his best friend Ned (Jacob Batalon).

The new footage includes clips of Spider-Man facing off with the villain Scorpion (Michael Mando), being present for Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) transforming into the Hulk and attempting to take on a group of ninjas from the shadowy organization The Hand.

“We are faced with a threat that can be anyone,” Tramell Tillman, whose role has yet to be officially confirmed, says in the trailer. “You’re the only one who can sense it. You’re the only one who can defeat it.”

The trailer does not offer much in the way of further clues as to the nature or identity of the “threat,” nor the (possibly related) mystery of who Sadie Sink will be playing in the film. 

“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” also stars Liza Colón-Zayas, Keith David and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher.

The film releases in theaters July 21.
