The second teaser trailer for the upcoming DC Studios series “Lanterns” includes the first look at Laura Linney in an as-yet unspecified role. 

She appears to play some sort of authoritative role in respect to John Stewart (Aaron Pierre). John is a sort of apprentice to the Green Lantern himself, Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler). But the two men seem to butt heads over who controls the ring that gives Hal his powers. 

John tells Linney’s character: “I was raised fearless, and I’ll do this better than he’s ever done it before.”

She replies: “Then go and get it, John Stewart.”

The HBO series also stars Nathan Fillion, Kelly Macdonald, Jason Ritter and Garret Dillahunt. The series debuts August 16.
