Netflix released another trailer for its forthcoming series adaptation of “Little House on the Prairie” on Monday. 

The video features scenes of daily life as the Ingalls family travels to live in the town of Independence, Missouri. Alice Halsey, as Laura Ingalls, narrates.

“Independence is a funny name for a town like this,” she says. “The truth is, none of us can make it alone here. The prairie is so big and we’re so small. We need help from each other.

“Independence isn’t just a way of life. It’s a place to come together.”

“Little House on the Prairie” is an adaptation of the popular series of children’s books about Laura Ingalls Wilder’s life growing up in the wild Kansas prairie.

The series, which is set to hit Netflix on July 9, 2026, stars Luke Bracey as Pa/Charles, Crosby Fitzgerald as Ma/Caroline and Skywalker Hughes as Mary. Rebecca Sonnenshine (“The Boys”) serves as developer and showrunner. 

Laura Ingalls Wilder wrote eight autobiographical children’s books that would later go on to be adapted into the long-running “Little House on the Prairie” series starring Melissa Gilbert and Michael Landon starting in 1974. The series also inspired spinoff books and other books compiled from Wilder’s writings after her 1957 death at age 90. 

Netflix has renewed the series for a second season.
