Prime Video revealed upcoming super hero series “Spider-Noir” will premiere on MGM+’s linear channel May 25, two days before its Prime Video debut.

All eight episodes of “Spider-Noir,” starring Nicholas Cage, are set to drop May 27 on Prime Video, but the series will make its world premiere on May 25 on MGM+’s linear channel, formerly known as Epix.

The premium channel can be watched on certain TV providers, including DirecTV and Dish Network, as well as through the MGM+ app or with the MGM+ add-on for Prime Video.

It was not clear how many episodes MGM+ will air prior to the Prime Video drop. It was also unclear which version of the show will be broadcast on MGM+, as Prime Video will have it available in both “Authentic Black & White” and “True-Hue Full Color.”

The series stars Cage as Ben Reilly, a private investigator who becomes endowed with the abilities of a spider, essentially making him a film noir version of Spider-Man (hence the name of the show).

Cage previously voiced the character in the animated film “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” and will return for the upcoming third film in the trilogy, “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.”

“Spider-Noir” also stars Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Abraham Popoola, Karen Rodriguez, Jack Huston and Brendan Gleeson.

Co-showrunners and executive producers Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot developed the series with Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Amy Pascal.

The Spider-Man Noir character was created by writers David Hine and Fabrice Sapolsky with artists Carmine Di Giandomenico and Marko Djurdjević for the Marvel Noir line of comics in 2009. He was subsequently featured in the 2010 video game “Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions” and 2012-2017 animated series “Ultimate Spider-Man.”
