Je m’appelle Agneta
Streaming April 29 on Netflix

The film has been adapted from Emma Hamberg’s 2021 Swedish novel “Je m’appelle Agneta.” The story follows a middle-aged woman who moves to France and meets new friends and rediscovers herself. It premieres on Netflix starting April 29.

The House of the Spirits
Streaming April 29 on Prime Video

The new adaptation of Isabel Allende’s “The House of the Spirits” is the first Spanish-language adaptation of the novel. Perhaps one of the most iconic examples of the magical realism genre,  the multi-generational saga follows the Trueba family through the years. The series stars Alfonso Herrera, Nicole Wallace and Dolores Fonzi. It debuts on Prime Video April 29.

Man on Fire
Streaming April 30 on Netflix

A remake of the Denzel Washington movie “Man on Fire,” this series stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen, Billie Boullet, Bobby Cannavale, Alice Braga and Scoot McNairy. The story follows a former mercenary seeking revenge and protecting the daughter of a late friend. Based on A.J. Quinnell’s novel, it comes to Netflix on April 30.

The Devil Wears Prada 2
In theaters May 1

Andy (Anne Hathaway) returns to Runway Magazine in “The Devil Wears Prada 2” as a Features Editor, and has to face Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) again. Also returning: Nigel (Stanley Tucci) , Emily (Emily Blunt), Tracie Thoms (Lily) and Tibor Feldman (Irv). It premieres in theaters on May 1.

Animal Farm
In theaters May 1

The animated adaptation of George Orwell’s “Animal Farm” follows Lucky the pig (Gaten Matarazzo), Snowball the sow (Laverne Cox), Boxer the horse (Woody Harrelson) and Carl the sheep (Jim Parsons). The barnyard gang discovers they’re about to be hauled off to the slaughter house and rebel against the farmers. It premieres in theaters on May 1.
