Ben Leonberg set to adapt Grady Hendrix’s ‘Ankle Snatcher’ horror story

Filmmaker Ben Leonberg is set to direct an adaptation of Grady Hendrix’s novel “Ankle Snatcher,” his second feature film after last year’s horror film “Good Boy.”

Leonberg and his writing partner, Alex Cannon, will rewrite an adaptation Hendrix already did of his book, Deadline reported.

Leonberg confirmed the news in a post on Instagram.

“Been trying to make this happen for a while!” he wrote.

“Ankle Snatcher” is a short story included in part of Amazon Originals Stories’ Creature Feature collection. It tells the story of Marcus, who grew up believing his father killed his mother and then blamed it on the boogeyman living under his bed. As he grows up he faces the question of whether the boogeyman is actually real or if he’s delusional like his father.
