Dan Stevens to play killer in ‘Dexter: Resurrection’ Season 2

“Beauty and the Beast” star Dan Stevens is joining “Dexter: Resurrection” Season 2 as The Five Borough Killer.

The character is described as being similar to the Zodiac killer, as he calls the police with threats of murdering the innocent residents of New York City.

On Wednesday, Uma Thurman’s return as Charley was announced and a week earlier, Brian Cox was announced in a new role–as the New York Ripper.

The character originates in Jeff Lindsay’s eight-book “Dexter” series. The first book, “Darkly Dreaming Dexter” was published in 2004 and Season 1 of the series, which premiered on Showtime in 2006, closely followed the book’s story. Afterward, the series took on a life of its own.

“Dexter” ran for eight seasons and was Showtime’s No. 1 show. Ten years after the series finale, in 2021, “Dexter: New Blood” premiered, and centers on Dexter reuniting with his teen son, Harrison (Jack Alcott).

A premiere date for Season 2 of “Dexter: Resurrection” has not yet been announced.
