First look at Kit Harington in ‘A Tale of Two Cities’
Federation Stories and Thriker Films released first-look pictures of Kit Harrington, François Civil and Mirren Mack, who will star in the upcoming adaptation of Charles Dickens’ “A Tale of Two Cities.” The limited series will air on BBC.
Untitled ‘Jumanji’ to open on Christmas
The film was originally going to drop on December 11, but the release date was changed to Christmas Day. The “Jumanji” franchise was adapted from the 1981 children’s novel by Chris Van Allsburg.
Stephen Colbert to adapt ‘LOTR’ film
In honor of Tolkien Day on Wednesday, Peter Jackson shared an update on Instagram about “The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum” and brought in a surprise guest. Stephen Colbert appeared in the video to announce he will be adapting parts of J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring” that were not included in the original film trilogy. The new film, will be titled “Lord of the Rings: Shadow of the Past.” Details here.
‘Bridgerton’ Season 5 couple
Netflix announced “Bridgerton” Season 5 will focus on the relationship between Francesca (Hannah Dodd) and Michaela (Masali Baduza). The love story is based on Julia Quinn’s sixth book in the “Bridgerton” series, “When He Was Wicked.” Details here.
Kirsten Dunst joins ‘Housemaid’ sequel
On Monday, “The Housemaid” social media account announced Kirsten Dunst was joining the sequel, “The Housemaid’s Secret.” She will star as Wendy Garrick in the film, based on the book of the same name. Sydney Sweeney and Michele Morrone are returning as Millie and Enzo.
‘Big Little Truths’ release date
Liane Moriarty announced the release date for her “Big Little Lies” sequel—“Big Little Truths.” It’s coming sooner than you think—August 25, 2026. A third season of HBO’s “Big Little Lies” is also in the works.
‘The Punisher’ isn’t done punishing
On Tuesday, Disney+ announced that comic book character Frank Castle (Jon Berthal) will return in a Marvel special “The Punisher: One Last Kill” on May 12. He was last seen in “Daredevil: Born Again” Season 1.
Sally Ride series to star Kristen Stewart
Amazon MGM Studios greenlit a limited series called “The Challenger” about the first female astronaut to go to space, Sally Ride. Kristen Stewart is set to star in the adaptation of “The New Guys” by Meredith Bagby.
‘Every Year After’: First look
Prime Video shared a first look Monday at “Every Year After,” based on Carley Fortune’s “Every Summer After.” The series premieres on June 10.
‘Wonder Man’ gets second season
Marvel announced its Disney+ series starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Ben Kingsley will return for a second season. Season 1 debuted in January 2026 and follows Abdul Mateen’s Simon Williams, an actor trying to make it big in Hollywood despite a ban on superpowered people working in the industry.
