This week in adaptation trailers: Feb. 9 to 14
This week, a bunch of books took their first big steps toward the screen. Here’s a roundup of the teasers and trailers that dropped between Feb. 9 and 14, 2026.
‘Scarpetta‘
Based on Patricia Cornwell’s long-running 29-book series, the crime thriller follows forensic pathologist Dr. Kay Scarpetta (Nicole Kidman) as she uses her expertise to solve brutal murders. The trailer also teases her complicated dynamic with sister Dorothy Farinelli (Jamie Lee Curtis). Bobby Cannavale and Simon Baker round out the cast. It premieres March 11 on Prime Video.
‘The Vampire Lestat’
Season 3 of AMC’s “Interview with the Vampire” has officially been rechristened “The Vampire Lestat.” The first two seasons, adapted from Anne Rice’s 1976 novel, followed Louis de Point du Lac (Jacob Anderson) — and his unapologetically dramatic version of events. Now, drawing from Rice’s 1985 novel, the story shifts to Lestat (Sam Reid) and his dramatic side of the tale. The series returns this summer on AMC and AMC+.
‘Vladimir’
Based on Julia May Jonas’ 2022 debut novel, the dark comedy stars Rachel Weisz as a college professor who begins to unravel when her husband (John Slattery) faces sexual harassment allegations. She then develops an unsettling obsession with a younger colleague, Vladimir (Leo Woodall). The limited series premieres March 5 on Netflix.
‘The Magic Faraway Tree’
The fantasy adventure adapts Enid Blyton’s beloved 1930s children’s book series. Claire Foy (“The Crown”) and Andrew Garfield star as Polly and Tim Thompson, who relocate their family to the English countryside — only to discover a magical tree with otherworldly secrets. Nicola Coughlan (“Bridgerton”) stars as a fairy. The film premieres in theaters March 27.
‘Spider-Noir’
Nicolas Cage stars as 1930s private investigator-turned-superhero Ben Reilly in “Spider-Noir.” Based on the Marvel comics of the same name, the series will be available in both black-and-white and a True-Hue full-color version. Lamorne Morris co-stars as journalist Robbie Robertson. It premieres May 27 on Prime Video.
‘Bridgerton’ Season 4-Part 2
The full trailer for “Bridgerton” Season 4 – Part 2 shows Benedict’s family reacting to his growing yearning for their maid Sophie — also known as the mysterious Lady In Silver. Season 4 adapts Julia Quinn’s “An Offer From a Gentleman.” Part 1 is streaming now. Part 2 premieres Feb. 26 on Netflix.
‘Forbidden Fruits’
The trailer for “Forbidden Fruits” introduces Free Eden employees Apple (Lili Reinhart), Cherry (Victoria Pedretti) and Fig (Alexandra Shipp) who form a witchy cult inside their mall. The film is based on a Lily Houghton’s play titled “Of the Women Came the Beginning of Sin, and Through Her We All Die.” Things turn bloody when they encounter Pumpkin (Lola Tung). The film premieres March 20 in theaters.
