The first two episodes of “VisionQuest,” the long-awaited capper to the trilogy started by “WandaVision” and “Agatha All Along,” have finally arrived on Disney+. The results are a combination of promising and a bit concerning.

My favorite book-to-screen adaptation is “A Discovery of Witches,” a fantasy TV series produced by the British production companies Bad Wolf and Sky Studios, based on the novels in the “All Souls” trilogy by Deborah Harkness, and released between 2018 and 2022.

Liev Schreiber, Zazie Beetz and Stephen Graham star in the Nordic noir adaptation “Nocturne.” The 10-episode series, based on the Swedish thrillers “Lazarus” and “The Sandman,” will stream on Apple TV on Oct. 30.
