Manga series “Murciélago,” which was created by Kana Yoshimura in 2013, is getting adapted to a TV series in 2027. The big news was announced at the recent Anime Expo.
The story centers on killer Kuroko Koumouri, who was once a death-row inmate. Now, Kuroko is an officially sanctioned executioner. She partners with the deceptively innocent-looking Hinako Tizakura, who is an expert driver, to hunt down criminals in their dangerous town.
The popular manga was serialized in Square Enix’s “Young Gangan.” The beloved title has more than 2.3 million copies in circulation worldwide. AMC Global Media’s HIDIVE will stream the anime adaptation in 2027 to subscribers in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.
Takashi Naoya will serve as the chief director of the TV series, with Matsuo Asami as the director.
