In the trailer for Season 2 of Netflix’s “Ransom Canyon,” Quinn O’Grady (Minka Kelly) returns to the western town after spending six months working as a concert pianist in New York City.
Quinn doesn’t return alone—she has a new man, much to rancher Staten Kirkland’s (Josh Duhamel) surprise.
The pair got together in Season 1, after decades of longing. The relationship didn’t last long as Staten still wasn’t over the loss of his wife and son years earlier.
“He wants to make it right,” Duhamel told Netflix Tudum. “He’s willing to accept a lot of the responsibility for what happened.”
The series is based on the books by Jodi Thomas.
The Netflix logline calls it the series “a heartfelt drama set against the sweeping vistas of Texas Hill Country” that follows “the intersecting lives of deep-rooted families in a town where your neighbors know everyone’s business.”
New faces have joined the cast of Season 2, including Patricia Clarkson as Quinn’s mother Claire O’Grady and Steven Howey, who was recently seen in “Off Campus,” as Staten’s half brother, Levi.
In addition, country music stars Thomas Rhett and Jordan Davis will perform in the new season.
“Ransom Canyon” Season 2 premieres July 23 on Netflix.
