The second trailer for the sequel to the 1998 romantasy film “Practical Magic” dropped Wednesday.
Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman return in “Practical Magic 2” as sisters Sally and Gillian Owens. The Owens women are bound by a family curse that dooms the men who love them.
Joey King stars as Kylie, who learns of the family curse and goes off to try to reverse it. The sisters have to work together to find her.
Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest return as aunts Frances and Jet Owens. Lee Pace, Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña and Solly McLeod also star.
The first film was adapted from the book of the same name by Alice Hoffman, while the sequel is based on Hoffman’s “The Book of Magic.”
Susanne Bier is directing the sequel from a screenplay by Akiva Goldsman, Georgia Pritchett and Kelly Marcel. It is produced by Denise Di Novi, Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman. The executive producers are Donald Sabourin, Alice Hoffman, Andrew A. Kosove and Broderick Johnson.
The film will arrive in theaters on Sept. 11.
