Anna Kendrick has been announced as the director of “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo.”  

This would be her second time directing, as she starred in and helmed Netflix’s “Woman of the Hour.”

Netflix is adapting Taylor Jenkins Reid’s 2017 novel.  The story follows legendary Hollywood star Evelyn Hugo as she gives her final interview to reporter Monique Grant. 

The glamorous Evelyn tells Monique about her mysterious background and each of her seven marriages. She also reveals that her one true love was actress Celia St. James.

Casting has not yet been announced. 

“Daisy Jones & The Six” was adapted as a Prime Video series in 2023 starring Riley Keough and Sam Claflin and “One True Loves” was adapted into a film that same year, starring Philippa Soo, Luke Bracey, and Simu Liu.

Her novels “Atmosphere,” “Carrie Soto Is Back,” “Malibu Rising” and “Forever Interrupted” have also been slated for adaptation.
