After months of teasers and music videos, AMC finally released the first full trailer for the third season of “Interview with the Vampire,” featuring Lestat in his rockstar era.
The trailer includes clips of Lestat (Sam Reid) performing on stage alongside his many other antics as he sings Billy Idol’s “Dancing with Myself.”
“It’s my era. I’m a rockstar now,” he tells his mother Gabriella, played by Jennifer Ehle.
The third season of the series—renamed “The Vampire Lestat”—follows the fallout after he tells the world he’s a vampire and creates a public persona. He does so to rebel against the story told by journalist and fellow vampire Daniel (Eric Bogosian) in his new book “Interview with the Vampire.”
“We’re doing a rewrite,” Lestat says in one scene after Daniel asks him why he’s taking the rockstar path.
In one scene, Armand, played by Assad Zaman, warns that Lestat is “going to get us all killed” for revealing the sacred vampire secrets to the world.
Based on the Vampire Chronicles series by Anne Rice, “The Vampire Lestat” is set to premiere on AMC on June 7. The series also stars Jacob Anderson as Louis.
About the writer
Danielle Haynes is the co-founder and co-editor of Booked & Screened, covering book-to-screen adaptations, film and TV development. She’s confused about why Lestat is kissing his mom like that in the trailer.
