‘Children of Blood and Bone’ gets release date

Paramount Pictures announced the release date for its adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi’s fantasy novel “Children of Blood and Bone.”

The star-studded film is set to be released Jan. 15, 2027. The X account for the movie also showed off a short clip of the logo.

The young adult romantasy is set to star Thuso Mbedu, Amandla Stenberg, Damson Idris, Tosin Cole, Cynthia Erivo, Chiwetel Ejofor, Lashana Lynch, Idris Elba and Viola Davis.

Adeyemi’s debut Afrofuturistic novel is the first in her “Legacy of Orïsha” trilogy of books. It focuses on Zélie Adebola (Mbedu) as she tries to bring magic back to the fictional kingdom of Orïsha, an alternate pre-colonial Nigeria.  

Gina Prince-Bythewood is set to direct.
